🍕 Classic Margharita Pizza Recipie

Ingredients 🛒

For the Dough
  1. 2 ½ cups (300 g) all-purpose flour
  2. 1 tsp salt
  3. 1 tsp sugar
  4. 1 packet (7 g) instant yeast
  5. 2 tbsp olive oil
  6. ¾ cup (180 ml) warm water
For Toppings
  1. 1 cup (250 g) pizza sauce (or tomato purée with herbs)
  2. 200 g fresh mozzarella cheese (sliced or shredded)
  3. Fresh basil leaves
  4. 2 tbsp olive oil
  5. Salt & pepper to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough
    • In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until foamy.
    • Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
    • Knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour (it should double in size).
  1. Preheat the Oven
    • Set to 475°F (245°C). Place a pizza stone or baking tray inside to heat.
  1. Shape the Dough
    • Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a thin circle/rectangle.
    • Transfer to parchment paper for easy handling.
  1. Add the Toppings
    • Spread pizza sauce evenly.
    • Top with mozzarella slices.
    • Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil.
  1. Bake
    • Carefully place the pizza (with parchment) on the hot tray/stone.
    • Bake for 8-12 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  1. Finish & Serve
    • Add fresh basil leaves on top after baking.
    • Slice and serve hot
